Health Canada’s Youth Leadership Team on Tobacco and Vaping is a group of youth from across the country who collaborate regularly to improve health outcomes related to substance usage amongst Canadian youth.
Sharing the Stories
A research and evaluation platform for youth, organizations and governments. The platform amplifies the voices of young people by aggregating data across multiple youth programs. Key youth trends from the aggregated data are published and shared with youth, organizations and decision-makers. Check out the research that's emerged from the platform and our Centre of Excellence for Youth Engagement.

A national environment committee will be formed with youth from each provinces and territories to study environmental issues. Youth from across Canada will be engaged through workshops, a social media campaign and virtual reality videos to explore how different regions of Canada are affected by climate change and develop concrete recommendations.

New Paths through COVID-19
This project will provide an in-depth look at the wide range of services provided by New Path Child and Youth Services in Simcoe County, Ontario and how it transitioned all of its services except for residential, to telephone and virtual delivery. Additional research explores collaborations in Prince Edward County and Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Counties in Ontario, and in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
This project was made possible in part by the Virtual Innovations in Care (VIC) Grant Program.
Be The Program
"Be The Program" offers youth across Canada the opportunity to prevent dating-violence through customized programs designed for their peer groups. Youth leaders will identify the needs of their peers in an evidence-based participatory research process, supported by adult allies from organizations across Canada, co-create programming, and deliver the programs in their communities. This approach ensures that young people are not only learning about violence prevention, but they are also learning leadership, facilitation, research, and design skills.
Through a historical lens, the purpose is to engage youth from across Canada in sessions that provide them with an opportunity to interact with their peers about social issues that impact them directly. These issues include but are not limited to: multiculturalism, social and economic inclusion, and diversity. To learn more visit the #ThisisCanada project page.

Safer Spaces and Social Identity Formation
Our model describes creating positive safer spaces that respect differences, on-line and off-line. The program supports young people to explore diversity and define positive social identities for themselves, against many influences.
